Street furniture and architecture

Albany

The development of the Albany seat was derived from a desire by the various agencies concerned with the deployment of furniture on the streets and leisure areas of Dundee, to deploy a range of products that were designed and manufactured to be fit for purpose.

The Albany Seat

The primary criteria for the development of the bench was, considerate ergonomics for maximum seating comfort for a wide range of users, old and young and a function and style aimed at visually enhancing the environment in which it is sited.

An important aspect of the design was, apart from the all too desirable values of visual aesthetics, was durability, weather and vandal resistant, which have been proven to be achieved by high standards of fabrication practices and processes. Adopting an all steel construction and substantial ground fixing plates ensures that regardless of terrain the Albany seat can be stabilised and secured with minimum surface scarring.

The Albany seat has been successfully installed in a wide range of urban environments and has maintained it's integrity both in terms of style, finish and purpose, that is, a comfortable bench to sit on.

Repeat orders for the bench have acted to signal a continued endorsement of it's quality and value as a well designed and manufactured fit for purpose piece of street furniture.
